Drug Take Back Program

Brookings Police Department, in association with the MED-Project Prescription Drug Take Back program, has partnered to provide a community drug drop-off site. This site allows Brookings residents to bring expired or unwanted prescription medicines to a convenient and secure location for proper disposal. The Brookings Police Department would like to encourage Brookings residents to dispose of their unwanted or expired prescription medicine safely and take advantage of this drop box located at the Brookings Police Department. Drop off is at the Brookings Police Department lobby 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Accepted: Prescription drugs only – liquid RX accepted only if capped. All medicine can be left in its container.

Not Accepted: Needles, pet medications, or over-the-counter drugs.
