All Brookings City Parks are day use only.  Pet owners are required to clean up after their animals.

Stout Park is located on Oak Street, one block north of Chetco Avenue (Hwy 101)

	Stout park contains azaleas; many species of wild plants and herbs; conifer, evergreen, deciduous trees; an old apple orchard: and shrubs that have been cataloged by volunteers.  One of the historical parks in Brookings, Stout Park was donated to the city in 1966 by Palm May Cowden Stout.  Her late husband, Frank D. Stout held the controlling interest in the C & O Lumber Company in Brookings.  The family had maintained and developed the property and used it as a summer and sometimes year-round retreat.  Palm Stout was a naturalist and left a trust to maintain this park.
The park is adjacent to the Manley Arts Center.  A recent addition was a gazebo and bench that was built as an Eagle Scout project.    Further development plans include trails through the trees and vegetation, future plantings, a sprinkler system, lighting and more seating.
Stout Park is a part of Brookings history, a very relaxing place to visit, and a park that will continue to develop in beauty and usefulness in the future.

Lower Stout Park

A new park in an existing park is in the making.....Work is underway to transform the lower portion of Stout Park into a new space with beautiful plant material for year-round interest!  A new seating area will be provided for picnics and lunch breaks along with custom engraved brick pavers to adorn the walkways.  A focal point will be a unique custom water feature designed by a local artist utilizing the existing cistern well.  We are seeking donations, volunteers, and any and all help to realize our dream for Lower Stout Park!
