Jim Watson Assistant Fire Chief 541-469-1142 jwatson@brookings.or.us	Our Volunteer Firefighters meet every Monday night in the Fire Hall at City Hall and drills at 7:00 p.m. The Fire Department is always looking for volunteers. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, meet physical and mental competency standards, and work well within a team-orientated program. The Department also has a Junior Firefighter program for young people, 14-18 years of age.

What CANNOT be burned?

Kitchen garbage, plastic, rubber, disposable diapers, oil, fiberglass, tires or paint.

City of Brookings Fire Hall - 898 Elk Drive

The Brookings Fire Department is comprised of a paid, full-time Fire Chief, a paid, full-time Assistant Fire Chief/Training Officer and a number of dedicated volunteers. The stimulus for recruitment has been, and will continue to be, the combination of training and the department's active involvement in the community.

The Brookings Fire Department provides response for fire, motor vehicle accidents-jaws of life/extrication, emergency medical and public service assistance within our response area, defined as the City of Brookings and, by contract, the Brookings Rural Fire Protection District and the Upper Chetco Volunteer Fire Protection District. The Department also provides fire life safety inspections, public education and prevention programs in the City of Brookings.
