In July, 2002, Councilor Dave Gordon and his wife Jean, migrated to Brookings from Santa Cruz, California. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, he attended New York City public schools.  At Pace College and City College of New York, Dave majored in Accounting and Business Administration.

Drafted in 1965, he served four years as a commissioned officer in the Army. Returning to the states after a tour in Vietnam, he resigned his commission and received an honorable discharge in 1969 with the rank of Captain.

Dave moved from his home town, New York City, to Palo Alto, California and joined the high tech industry in 1969 and  spent 33 years with several electronic firms serving as sales and marketing director.

When he and his wife moved to Brookings, they purchased a small business "Copy-All Printing" which provided copies and printing services to the local economy.

In a short period of time, Dave was elected to the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, volunteered and served on the Brookings Parks and Recreation Commission, was appointed to the Board of the Brookings Harbor Youth Association, elected to the Board of Directors of the local Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans Association, and joined the local Rotary organization.

Councilor Gordon's areas of interest are: City administration's delivery of quality services to our growing community; land use planning; and the health and safety of our citizens.
