The
City of Brookings Water Treatment Plant
is a Neptune Microfloc plant
utilizing rapid sand filtration.
On
average the plant treats over 450 million gallons per year. The source
water is the Chetco River. To ensure that our citizens have the best water
quality, we test the water in our own lab as well as a state certified lab.
If you would like a copy of the latest lab results please call
our Water Department at (541) 469-2163. |

Each year the City of Brookings prepares a
Consumer Confidence
Report (CCR). A
CCR is a report on the quality of drinking water supplied by the
utility containing information on the quality of the water delivered
by the system and characterizing any risks from exposure to
contaminants in the drinking water in an accurate and understandable
manner.
When the US Congress passed the 1996 Safe Drinking Water Act
amendments, the U S Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) was given
the mandate to require each community water system to provide each of
its customers with a CCR every 12 months.
The CCR is typically published annually, by July 1, and reports on the
quality of water for the previous calendar year. The City of
Brookings mails a copy of the annual CCR to each water customer in
June.
A copy of this report may be obtained on-line, or at City Hall in the
Administrative Services Department.
