The City of Brookings Water Treatment Plant

is a Neptune Microfloc plant utilizing rapid sand filtration.  On average the plant treats over 450 million gallons per year. The source water is the Chetco River.  To ensure that our citizens have the best water quality, we test the water in our own lab as well as a state certified lab.  If you would like a copy of the latest lab results please call the Water Utility Billing Department at (541) 469-1125.

Each year the City of Brookings prepares a Consumer Confidence Report (CCR)The CCR reports on the quality of drinking water supplied by the utility containing information on the quality of the water delivered by the system and characterizing any risks from exposure to contaminants in the drinking water in an accurate and understandable manner.   When the US Congress passed the 1996 Safe Drinking Water Act, the U S Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) was mandated to require each community water system to provide a CCR to each of its customers every 12 months.  The CCR report is typically published by July 1 and provides data for the previous calendar year and .

CCRs are mailed to all City water customers.  A copy of this report may be obtained on-line, or at City Hall in the Administrative Services Department.

The operators of the facilities will be notified to mark out the location of their lines within two working days of notification.
