Indoor Water Use

Even in areas like Brookings, where water seems abundant, water conservation is important.  Water conservation helps prevent water pollution in nearby streams and rivers - and that improves the health of local watersheds and the fish living there.  Most people use 70 - 90 gallon of water per day indoors.  You can reduce that amount significantly by practicing sound water conservation techniques and reduce your water utility bill at the same time!

Below, you'll find some useful ideas for reducing indoor water use as well as a few informative links.

For more information, or to request assistance in reducing your water use, please contact the Administrative Services Department, City Hall, 898 Elk Street, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.  Monday through Friday.  Or visit the web pages outlined in the navigational bars to the left and right of this page.
